Last weekend was the first test for our infrastructure and for us as hosts: Our son Tobias and his bride Nadine celebrated their wedding with us on the Oberhaushof farm! Due to coronavirus restrictions, they had had to cancel their originally planned reception, but with the latest easing of measures, they were allowed to organise a spontaneous wedding reception with a small group of guests now.
Fortunately, the renovation of the covered seating area has already progressed so far that we were able to hold the party in our garden. In the last post, we already wrote about the finished terrace. By now, the covered space has been renovated as well, and a kitchen has been built into the future seasonal breakfast room.
For the reception, we set up a tent in front of the terrace and installed an arch and fire bowls on the lawn. Below this arch, with a view of the lake, Rapperswil Castle and the mountains, the two lovers said yes to each other in the evening. Later on
, there were food and drinks in the kitchen, and at the end of the party, we could admire fireworks in the garden. We are very happy for Tobias and Nadine that they could marry after all! We wish them the best of blessings for their married life and are thankful and a little proud that we mastered our “trial by fire” well. We can’t wait to host the next party at the Oberhaushof farm, which will most probably be the opening of the B&B next spring!
